What does the role involve?
We are recruiting for Sous Chef and Chef de Partie positions within our busy restaurant operation.
Whether you're an experienced chef looking to take on greater responsibility as a Sous Chef or a skilled Chef de Partie looking to further develop your culinary career, we offer an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional and supportive kitchen team.
Working within our high-volume restaurant, you'll play an important role in delivering consistently high-quality dishes, maintaining exceptional food safety standards and contributing to a positive kitchen culture. Responsibilities:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food to company standards.
- Ensuring consistency, quality control and excellent presentation across all menu items.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy kitchen environment.
- Taking ownership of designated kitchen sections and ensuring they run efficiently.
- Supervising and supporting junior team members where appropriate.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety compliance.
- Monitoring stock levels, stock rotation and food storage procedures.
- Assisting with stock takes and helping to minimise food waste and operational costs.
- Supporting menu delivery and ensuring dishes are prepared in line with recipes and specifications.
- Working collaboratively with front of house teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Contributing to a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.
- Supporting the training and development of new and existing team members.
- Assisting with kitchen opening and closing procedures as required.
- For Sous Chef positions, supporting the Kitchen Manager with day-to-day kitchen leadership and team supervision.
What skills and experience do you need?
For all positions, we are looking for individuals who:
- Have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
- Possess a passion for food and delivering excellent standards.
- Have a strong understanding of food hygiene, food safety and health & safety regulations.
- Are organised, reliable and able to work efficiently under pressure.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
Additional requirements for Sous Chef role may include:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef de Partie or similar supervisory role.
- Experience leading, training and developing kitchen teams.
- Strong organisational and people management skills.
- Experience with stock control, ordering and cost management.
- Experience supporting kitchen operations and ensuring service runs smoothly.
- Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.
Contract: Permanent, full-time positions.
Hours: Working hours will be on a rota basis and will include weekend and bank holiday working.
Salary: (depending on experience)
- Chef de Partie – from £14.01 per hour.
- Sous Chef – from £14.86 per hour.
