What we're looking for:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in English Language or Literature
· Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
· A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and professional development
What you’ll be doing:
· Planning and delivering engaging and thought-provoking English lessons across Key Stages 2 to 4 (and potentially KS5)
· Encouraging students to develop analytical thinking, English enquiry skills, and a strong understanding of key contexts
· Creating a respectful, inclusive classroom environment where diverse perspectives are explored and valued
· Working collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the curriculum and support whole-school initiatives and events
Safeguarding
At Schools Mutual Services, we regard safeguarding as a top priority. All staff must have a valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or be willing to undergo the application process through ourselves. We also require valid education safeguarding; we provide this completely for free.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (ECTs encouraged to apply)
- Experience across working in a school environment, with understanding of the national curriculum
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and adaptive teaching
- Confidence in differentiating tasks and supporting learners with additional needs
- A flexible, positive, and proactive approach to teaching
