Our focus is on distributing quality products and providing excellent service by offering, substrates, boards, digital print media, wrap films and sign vinyl.
Location:
Manchester Branch with occasional travel to suppliers and UK branches.
Reporting to:
Commercial Director.

37½hrs per week
£45,000-£55,000 (depending on experience)
The Role:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for ensuring Pyramid invests in the right inventory, at the right time and in the right quantities. The role maximises product availability whilst minimising inventory investment, supporting strong cash flow and excellent customer service. Working within Pyramid’s commercial framework, the successful candidate will use data, planning, supplier collaboration and the full capability of Microsoft Business Central to optimise inventory and purchasing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory levels across all five locations to maximise availability whilst minimising working capital.
- Ensure products are purchased in the right quantities at the right time.
- Review replenishment settings and demand patterns to optimise stock holdings.
- Maximise the capability of Microsoft Business Central, developing scalable, system-driven inventory management processes that improve forecasting, replenishment, visibility and inventory control across the business.
- Work with suppliers to improve lead times, optimise delivery frequencies and challenge minimum order quantities where appropriate.
- Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and regular performance reviews.
- Take ownership of a defined portfolio of supplier and product categories, managing purchasing activity whilst ensuring replenishment disciplines and inventory standards are consistently applied across the wider purchasing team.
- Identify and rationalise slow-moving, duplicated and commercially unjustified stock lines.
- Produce reporting on inventory performance, stock turns, ageing, availability and supplier performance.
- Support Sales, Operations and Finance with accurate inventory information and practical recommendations.
- Ensure agreed inventory policies and business standards are consistently applied.

Skills & Experience:
- Experience managing inventory within distribution, wholesale or manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and planning skills.
- ERP experience (Microsoft Business Central desirable).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to build productive supplier relationships.

What Success Looks Like:
Within the first 12 months you will have improved stock availability, reduced unnecessary inventory investment, strengthened supplier performance management, improved forecasting, rationalised low-value stock lines and delivered measurable improvements in working capital whilst maintaining excellent customer service. You will have successfully increased the business's utilisation of Microsoft Business Central, implementing scalable, system-driven inventory management processes that improve visibility, consistency and decision making across the organisation. You will also have established ownership of your purchasing categories whilst ensuring best practice and inventory disciplines are consistently adopted across the wider purchasing team.
