Job summary:
We are a swimming school with numerous sites looking for a level 2 qualified teacher to take on some sessions at a pool in Camberley. All of these sessions are 1-1 or 1-2 sessions with some daytime pre school and parent and baby sessions.
Daytime hours will only be offered for teachers willing to take on evening work or weekend.
All evening/ weekend hours will be a minimum of 3 hours.
we are looking for experienced teachers with a level 2 qualification and ideally a water safety or NRSTC.
This is on a self employed basis and is term time only for evening work.
Throughout the summer we give teachers opportunities to do crash courses again 3 hours minimum but can work 6 hours if you wanted during the crash course.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons that cater to the specific needs of each student, ensuring progress and safety.
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, stroke development, and water safety skills with enthusiasm and clarity.
- Assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement and confidence.
- Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing pool rules, supervising students at all times, and responding promptly to emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to track progress and address any concerns.
- Keep accurate records of lesson plans, attendance, and student achievements for ongoing development.
- Support the overall safety protocols by conducting routine equipment checks and ensuring compliance with health standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, particularly in swimming instruction or related aquatic activities.
- Strong background in teaching methods with the ability to motivate learners of diverse ages and skill levels.
- Current certification as a Level 2 Swimming Teacher or equivalent qualification recognized in your region.
- Knowledge of water safety practices, rescue techniques, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and positive reinforcement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
