About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to join our Management Accounting and wider finance team in Preston. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for supporting a wide range of accounting and financial functions across the UK and Rest of World (ROW) operations, subject to business needs.
The role involves financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and providing key financial insights to support business decision-making. You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives and assist with audits and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reports, journals, and reconciliations
- Support the month-end close process
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers
- Process invoices and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Perform intercompany reconciliations
Forecasting & Cash Flow Management
- Assist in trading and cash flow forecasting
- Support preparation and monitoring of budgets
- Conduct cost analysis and financial planning support
Budgeting
- Prepare and monitor departmental and operational budgets
- Assist in budget planning and review processes
Performance & Variance Analysis
- Analyse financial performance and variances
- Identify trends, risks, and key financial drivers
- Provide insights to support management decision-making
Finance Projects & Process Improvement
- Contribute to finance transformation and improvement projects
- Support implementation of new tools, systems, and reporting enhancements
Systems, Policies & Compliance
- Manage expense, travel, and payment-related policies
- Support interim and annual external audits
- Assist with VAT filings and statutory reporting requirements
Additional Requirements
- Strong Excel skills (including data analysis, formulas, and reporting tools)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet tight financial deadlines consistently
- Positive, proactive, and collaborative attitude
- Comfortable working in an office-based team environment
What We’re Looking For
- A strong accounting background with experience in management accounting or similar roles
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
