We are looking for Residential Support Worker to join an innovative team for Calm Space’s Children’s Homes, to help provide the young people in our home with the best possible care. As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be a crucial part of a passionate team, helping vulnerable young people through their challenges and creating positive change in their lives.
Essential Requirements
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Willingness to undertake mandatory training
- Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
- Has a valid manual driving license.
Job Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Residential Support Worker, your role will include:
- Supporting daily routines: Supporting children with personal care, meal preparation, and daily activities to help them develop independence
- Build trusted, professional relationships in a safe and structured environment
- Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
- Educational support: Encouraging and supporting children in their learning journey, assisting with homework, and helping them develop new skills
- Leading recreational activities: Organising and leading recreational activities, including fun events and holidays, to increase engagement and enhance well-being.
- Emotional support: Providing guidance, care, and person-centred support to help children navigate difficult moments
- Documentation: Completing care plans, reports, and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintaining a safe environment: Ensuring the home is clean, secure, and well-organised
- Team collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to create a positive, nurturing environment
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and care documentation
- Follow safeguarding protocols and uphold children’s rights and welfare

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
