Hours of Work
Monday to Friday
0630hrs - 1630hrs
Pay Rates
£16.00 per hour rate, Overtime £18.00 per hour rate
Duties
- You will be expected to take and present vehicles for MOT
- Carry out any Workshop driving requirements
- Available for regular driving work for Transport Department when required
- Safely shunt and position commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers, within designated yard areas
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicles for safety compliance and report any issues promptly
- Assist with the coupling and uncoupling of trailers, ensuring secure connections before movement
- Maintain clear communication with Workshop, yard staff and drivers to coordinate vehicle movements efficiently
- Perform basic janitorial tasks to keep the yard, vehicle bays, and surrounding areas clean and organized
- Follow all safety protocols and driving regulations to promote a secure working environment
Skills
- Valid driving license with experience in operating commercial vehicles or shunting equipment
- Attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with drivers, visitors, team members and other departments
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety procedures consistently
- Good physical condition with the ability to perform manual tasks
