We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Supply Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across various subjects, supporting students' learning needs, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education, including those with experience in special education or working with children with disabilities. The Supply Teacher will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning and fostering a supportive atmosphere for all students.
Duties
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring curriculum coverage and student engagement
- Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or other disabilities
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and individual requirements
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and encouragement to students to promote their academic and personal development
- Assist with behavioural management and maintain discipline according to school policies
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth lesson transitions and effective communication
- Support creative writing activities and other specialised projects as required
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress during assignments
Skills
- Experience or training in special education and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents
- Proven ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring students to support their academic growth
- Creative writing skills to inspire and develop students’ literacy abilities
- Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and subjects as needed
- Enthusiasm for fostering inclusive learning environments that encourage creativity and confidence
