Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to handle guest enquiries efficiently. Previous hotel experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. A knowledge of Guestline or other booking platforms is desirable but not essential. The Hotel Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a positive guest experience and maintaining the high standards of our establishment. The candidate will require an adequate level of computer literacy and the flexibility to work weekend shifts from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in/check-out procedures
- Manage reservations and room allocations accurately using the booking system
- Handle guest enquiries via phone, email, or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and amenities
- Process payments and manage billing efficiently
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times
- Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessary
- Uphold hotel policies and procedures to ensure safety and security for all guests
Qualifications
- A Knowledge of Rezlynx or similar booking management platforms will be beneficial to this role.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve an international clientele
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with a professional attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of hotel management software is a plus but training will be provided
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
