Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative and Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves managing warehouse duties of goods delivered into and out of our warehouse alongside delivering goods to various locations, ensuring efficient operations and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be organised, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in delivery driving and warehouse work. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism with in a small team.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday – 8am – 5pm (some flexibility needed including overtime)
Duties:
· Loading/Unloading (heavy lifting required) – checking for damage etc to products.
· Updating the software system to confirm goods in stock.
· Ensuring all delivery documentation is completed correctly.
· Loading of goods for customers renovations.
· Delivering products to clients and to our installers in a timely manner.
· Conducting vehicle checks prior to deliveries to ensure safety compliance.
· Planning ahead to make sure our renovations can start on time by checking we have all of the materials required with enough notice to rectify any potential issues.
· Assisting with stock organisation and stock control within the warehouse and work closely with the office to make sure replacement stock is ordered on time.
· Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse area.
· Communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding deliveries or issues encountered during routes
· Helping the installation team with strip-outs of client’s renovations.
· A full, clean UK driving licence held for a minimum of 7 years is required to meet our company vehicle insurance requirements and safely operate the company van.
Skills.
· Experience working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of stock handling and organisation.
· Competence in operating the 3500kg 6 metre long delivery van in our tight driveway and to make suitable deliveries to client’s homes.
· Good organisational skills to manage schedules and routes effectively.
· Reliable, punctual, Self-disciplined and can work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
· PC literate for admin duties and booking goods in to stock.
· Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling goods.
· Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
· Plumbing & building materials knowledge would be an advantage but not essential as full training would be given.
· Open to being trained to use a powered stacker. (Pedestrian fork lift truck).
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehousing and driving activities.
· Prepared to learn the role and the business
· Training for all area’s will be given where ever required.
· Potentially have the ability for minor maintenance on showroom and warehouse.
