Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Lunchtime Assistant to support our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety, and promoting a positive and nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in childcare and early childhood education within a supportive team setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervising children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assisting children with eating and encouraging good manners and behaviour
- Supporting children in social interactions and fostering positive relationships
- Maintaining a clean and organised dining area before, during, and after lunch
- Supporting nursery staff with behavioural management and child engagement activities when required
- Assisting with basic childcare duties as needed, including helping children with personal hygiene routines
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety policies during lunchtime activities
Skills
- Experience working with children, preferably within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging positively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of childcare practices and early childhood education principles
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy nursery environment
- Organised, responsible, and attentive to detail in managing lunchtime routines
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting nursery activities outside the premises or for transportation purposes
