Camber Holiday Cottages is a family-run business managing around twenty beautiful holiday homes in and around Camber Sands & Rye, East Sussex. We pride ourselves on offering guests exceptional holiday accommodation and looking after our properties as if they were our own.
Our office team looks after bookings, customer service and organising our wonderful cleaning team of around 15 people. We are now looking for someone to join the maintenance side of the business.
This is a new role, created because our business has grown and because, after many years of doing it all myself, it's time to find someone who can gradually take on more responsibility. This will initially be on a self-employed basis with a view to becoming a permanent employee.
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, likes solving problems, takes pride in doing a job properly and, just as importantly, will fit into our friendly team.
Job Overview
No two days are the same. Typical duties include:
- Preparing properties between guest stays
- Mowing lawns and keeping gardens tidy / sweeping patio's where needed.
- Cleaning and maintaining barbecues/ pizza ovens
- Sorting and moving rubbish and recycling
- Repairing minor faults such as loose toilet seats, door handles and other everyday maintenance issues. Unblocking drains, Replacing light bulbs etc.
- Testing smoke alarms and safety equipment
- Cleaning windows should the usual window cleaner be away.
- Checking properties to ensure they're ready for arriving guests
Requirements
You don't need formal qualifications, but you should be:
- Practical and good with your hands
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Happy working both independently and as part of a team
- Organised and able to spot things that need attention
- Happy to muck in wherever needed
- A full UK driving licence is essential
Pay: £400.00-£480.00 per week
