Owen Fabrications Ltd, a well-established structural steel fabricator based in West London (Greenford), is seeking a Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor with background in structural steel projects. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in pricing and securing works across a variety of commercial and industrial steel schemes throughout the UK. The successful Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor will support the lead Estimator with the day to day running of projects, carrying out pre and post cost management roles with supervision.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Estimator to manage processes from initial enquiry to final submission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel projects, from small-scale works to large commercial and industrial developments. Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to ensure clear understanding of project scope.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather technical data and up-to-date pricing.
- Identify potential project risks and cost-saving opportunities, contributing to value engineering discussions.
- Ensure all estimates are compliant with client requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related subject
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and current market rates - preferable
- Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and tight deadlines
- Clear communicator with strong organisational and numerical skills
