The Butchers Hook is Thornbury’s home for top-tier local craft beers & ciders, independent wines, and quality spirits - it's the place people come for something a little different. On weekends, we pair our drinks with artisanal burgers and loaded food boxes. We take pride in great drinks, cracking food, and exceptional hospitality in a warm, welcoming community pub.
The Role
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable team members to join our front-of-house crew. You’ll be the face of the pub, delivering great service to our locals and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving drinks and chatting with customers about our craft beer and drinks range
- Taking orders and running food (weekend food service)
- Keeping the bar fully stocked (fridges, snacks, glass washing)
- Assisting with cellar duties, including beer line cleaning
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the bar and seating areas
- Closing the pub, including cashing up & end-of-night procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Must be aged 18 or over
- A friendly, energetic attitude and a passion for customer service
- An interest in local craft beer & UK independent drinks (preferred)
- Previous experience working in a pub / bar / hospitality venue (preferred)
- Reliability and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment

Note: Having a car will be beneficial if you don't live in or near Thornbury, as weekend evening shifts will run past the end of Thornbury's public transport links back to Bristol.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
