Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educators and students within our educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering tailored learning experiences, particularly for children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities. Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities
- Working 1 2 1 with a child with SEND
- Morning and afternoon interventions with small groups
- Assist children with their learning tasks, providing personalised guidance as needed
- Work closely with children with autism and other disabilities to promote inclusive participation
- Care for toddlers and younger children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages social and emotional development
- Help organise classroom materials and resources for effective lesson delivery
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support individualised education plans
- Supervise children during breaks, outdoor activities, and specialised programmes
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to adapt approaches to meet diverse needs
- Prior experience working with children, particularly in special education settings or toddler care
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, colleagues, and parents
- Organised, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners’ development
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and support staff
