Chef – Sea Cliff Care Home, Boscombe

Sea Cliff Care Home is looking for an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Chef to join our friendly and caring team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious and appetising meals and understands the important role good food plays in the health, wellbeing and quality of life of our residents.
The Role
As our Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and preparing varied, nutritious and appealing daily menus
- Catering for individual preferences, allergies, dietary requirements and modified-texture diets
- Preparing and presenting meals to a consistently high standard
- Managing food stock and ordering supplies within the agreed budget
- Maintaining accurate food, stock and kitchen records
- Ensuring food is stored, prepared and served safely and hygienically
- Maintaining excellent standards of kitchen cleanliness, including scheduled deep cleaning
- Following Food Hygiene, Infection Prevention and Control, and Health & Safety requirements
- Supporting, training and supervising kitchen staff
- Listening to residents and responding to their food preferences and feedback
- Working closely with the Registered Manager and wider care team
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience working as a Chef
- Care home, healthcare or hospitality experience is desirable
- Good knowledge of nutrition and special dietary requirements
- Excellent cooking and food presentation skills
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage food stock and work within an agreed budget
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A caring, respectful and resident-focused approach
- Flexibility to work weekends and Bank Holidays as required
Essential Qualifications
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering or equivalent qualification
