Job Overview
Experienced Legal Secretary sought for busy high street practice, mixed workload including motor offences and conveyancing, must have audio typing and good IT skills. Part-time, initially 2 days per week plus holiday and sickness cover.
Experience in post-completion applications (SDLT Returns and Land Registry submissions) would be of help.
The position is office based.
Duties
- Conduct audio typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and efficiency
- Manage and organise legal files, documents, and case materials in accordance with firm procedures
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence professionally, ensuring timely responses
- Support the team with general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times
Requirements
- Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal environment or related field
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with audio typing is essential
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines efficiently
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is advantageous but not essential
