We're looking for a driven and people-focused Transport Team Manager to join our fast-paced Sainsbury's operation in Sherburn. Based within a 550,000 sq. ft. multi-temperature distribution centre, you'll play a vital role in keeping our store network moving by leading transport colleagues, driving performance, and championing a culture of safety, compliance, and engagement.

The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. Shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 6:00 to 18:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £35,024 per annum, and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Operational performance, achieving weekly and monthly targets through effective use of transport systems (Integrated Transport Management System and Yard Smart)
- Fleet & compliance management, overseeing driver and transport colleagues, ensuring adherence to company guidelines, Road Traffic Act, and health & safety regulations
- Communication and shift briefings, being clear with expectations, sharing success and performance updates, company news and maintaining communication with stores
- Team leadership & union relations, motivating and guide the transport team while fostering positive relationships with unions and their representatives
- Service excellence & flexibility, delivering first-class service to the store network and undertake additional duties to support smooth departmental operations
What you need to succeed at GXO:

- Experience of leading/managing a team, with focus on colleague engagement

- IT savvy with strong PC skills
