Overview
We are looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays.
- Load and secure goods safely on the vehicle, ensuring compliance with weight limits and safety standards.
- Complete all relevant documentation accurately.
- Ensure compliance with drivers' hours, tachograph, and road transport regulations.
- Maintain a clean and well-presented vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
Essential criteria
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence with relevant driving experience.
- Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads securely.
Desirable criteria
- ADR certificate.
- HIAB / Lorry Loader qualification.
