An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Casual Support Worker to join the team at Nexus Fostering on a casual basis. We are looking for a compassionate and caring support worker to cover Romford and the surrounding areas.
The Role
What You’ll Do...
- Be a role model, mentor, and champion for the children in your care,
- Build connections: Engage with young people through weekly activities in the community, outings, or even at school, working one-on-one to support their growth and development, helping them thrive and enjoy positive experiences.
- Fostering fun: Help plan and run exciting activity days for foster families and young people, creating memories that last a lifetime.
- Supporting foster carers: Provide practical assistance and support to help create stable, supportive, and nurturing home environments.
For this role, willingness to travel and use of a car is essential as the successful applicant will be required to support foster carers and visit placements across Romford and surrounding area.

- Has a passion for working with children: You bring energy, empathy, and a creative spark to every interaction.
- Is experienced and compassionate: You’ve worked with children, especially those with additional needs (ASD, GDD, nonverbal) or challenging behaviours, and you understand the impact of trauma.
- Is Flexible and adventurous: Comfortable working afternoons and evenings to meet the needs of children and young people.
- Is a driver with a can-do attitude: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
- Fun and outgoing: You love working with young people and know how to connect with them on their level.
- Energetic and proactive: Ready to dive into activities and bring creativity to your work.
- Is willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
