What if finding your perfect foundation shade took just 60 seconds?
DCYPHER BEAUTY is changing the way people buy foundation.
Using our world-first beauty AI technology, we scan a customer’s face, find their personalised shade and create a custom foundation made specifically for them – all in just 60 seconds.
Following our exclusive launch with John Lewis at its flagship Oxford Street store in September 2026, we have an ambitious rollout planned across London and beyond through to Spring 2027.
We’re now looking for brilliant, energetic and sales-focused Beauty Advisors to join us at this exciting stage of our growth.
THE ROLE
This isn’t a traditional beauty counter role.
You’ll be introducing customers to a completely new way of buying foundation, creating excitement around our technology and turning curiosity into an incredible customer experience – and ultimately a sale.
You’ll be one of the faces of DCYPHER BEAUTY within John Lewis, helping us build awareness, acquire new customers and grow our brand.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You’ll:
- Drive awareness and excitement around DCYPHER BEAUTY across the John Lewis store, proactively introducing customers to the brand and our technology.
- Invite customers to experience their personalised 60-second shade match.
- Use our AI technology to scan customers and identify their personalised foundation shade.
- Talk to customers about their skin, foundation preferences and desired finish and coverage to help create their perfect product.
- Confidently explain what makes DCYPHER BEAUTY different and why traditional foundation shade matching doesn’t always work.
- Turn shade matches and demonstrations into sales through natural, confident conversations.
- Introduce customers to our wider range of sets, primers, brushes and accessories to help build their complete routine.
- Deliver and exceed individual and store sales, conversion, ATV and UPT targets.
- Confidently communicate current promotions, offers and product launches.
- Create memorable customer experiences that leave people excited to tell others about DCYPHER BEAUTY.
- Maintain an immaculate, premium and engaging brand space throughout the day.
- Replenish stock, testers, primers, brushes and accessories.
- Support events, demonstrations and customer activations within John Lewis.
- Capture customer feedback and insights to help us continually improve the DCYPHER BEAUTY experience.
- Act as a true brand ambassador, representing DCYPHER BEAUTY and our values every day.
WHO ARE YOU?
We’re looking for people who genuinely love beauty, people and selling.
You’ll be:
- Passionate and knowledgeable about makeup, particularly foundation and complexion.
- Able to talk authentically about the challenges customers face when trying to find their perfect foundation match.
- Excited by beauty innovation and confident demonstrating new technology.
- Naturally sales-focused and motivated by achieving and exceeding targets.
- Confident turning a fantastic shade-match experience into a sale.
- Comfortable recommending additional products to increase ATV and UPT while always keeping the customer’s needs at the heart of the conversation.
- Proactive – you’ll be happy approaching customers rather than waiting for them to come to you.
- Warm, friendly and approachable with the confidence to start conversations with anyone.
- Passionate about delivering an elevated, personalised customer experience.
- Energetic and comfortable working in a busy department store environment.
- Reliable, flexible and excited to be part of a fast-growing beauty brand.
Previous beauty or retail sales experience would be fantastic, but attitude, confidence and a genuine passion for beauty and customers are just as important to us.
FLEXIBILITY
Our John Lewis locations trade 7 days a week, so you’ll need flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends according to your contracted hours and rota.
As we continue our London rollout, there may also be opportunities to work across different John Lewis locations and support new store launches, events and activations.
