Responsibilities
- Safely operate a van to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Load and unload items from the warehouse, handling heavy lifting with proper technique to prevent injury
- Verify delivery details and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery from customers
- Maintain clear communication with the warehouse team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety standards are met before each journey
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as stock organization, inventory management, and order picking when not on delivery routes
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Skills
- Experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role and hold a full UK driving licence. Aged 25+ years and been driving for over 3 years.
- Strong commercial driving skills with a clean driving record
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, including knowledge of stock handling and inventory procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with team members and customers
- Good organizational skills to manage delivery schedules and paperwork effectively
