We are looking for a multi-skilled tradesman with a carpentry or other similar skilled time-served background.

Responsibilities:
- Hanging doors, fitting kitchen units and worktops, stud wall construction, suspended timber flooring, timber roofing construction, bespoke fencing (seasonal), plasterboarding and other varied tasks as required involving timber as well as.other materials as needed.
- Input required on design and problem solving with varied jobs
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Read plans and drawings to determine specifications and calculate materials needed
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, flooring, and trim
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Follow building codes and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other carpenters, contractors, and construction workers on projects
- Lead certain aspects of jobs, especially carpentry related
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
- Maintain an organised and tidy workplace
Skills:
- Main skill base requirement is carpentry, but other skills/trades are desirable, such as tiling, plumbing, basic electrics, some ground works, plastering etc.
- Knowledge of paint application techniques for finishing projects
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for construction materials
- Skilled in carpentry techniques such as measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood materials
- Experience with roofing installation and repair
- Familiarity with a wide range of hand tools used in carpentry work
- Ability to fabricate or modify structures to meet specific project requirements
- Proficient in the use of power tools for cutting, drilling, and shaping materials
- Knowledge of plumbing systems for installation or repair purposes may be beneficial
Requirements:
Must be able to work unsupervised and problem solve to get jobs finished in good time
Must be organised, tidy and efficient in day to day performance of duties
Good communication is essential.
Must be experienced in all aspects of site carpentry on varied age domestic properties
Driving licence and transport
Access to own tools
CIS registered, or willing to register
High standards of finish and an eye for detail
References required
