Accounts Receivable Officer - Cashbook
Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£28,428 per year
35 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Temporary position for up to 12 months
This role sits within the Corporate Shared Service Centre (Accounts Receivable Team), which provides multiple shared services for the delivery of core business processes relating to Payroll, Scanning & Storage and Accounts Payable & Receivable to support all our businesses within the Group. The CSSC Performance and Improvement team improve process efficiencies allowing CSSC to support all our customer needs whilst striving for effectiveness and efficiency in all our service delivery.
The role of Accounts Receivable Officer – Income Posting will include:
- Assist in maintenance of financial records ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to financial controls
- Maintain monitoring systems to ensure a robust control environment is maintained to safeguard the organisation's financial interests
- Follow correct processes, governance and compliance to ensure controls are in place
- Contribute to the collection of data to support root cause analysis for queries and make recommendations to support improvements
- Assist in the development of accounts receivable administration and processes to provide efficient, customer focused services across the Group
- Work with wider teams to identify transactions in suspense and process accurately to clear
- Support the management and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery
- Actively follow up outstanding queries or requests to allocate / move monies to ensure accounts are accurate
- Contribute, as appropriate, to special programmes and projects in support of the Group's values and objectives
- Reconcile bank accounts in a timely manner, identifying any reconciling items that need investigating and escalating as appropriate
- Provide managers and colleagues with clear guidance and advice, in response to accounts receivable queries, ensuring compliance with Group policy and relevant legislation
Skills and experiences:
- Excellent interpersonal and transactional skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good understanding of written and spoken English
- Good communication skills
- Good organisational, time management and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
- Ability to interpret computerised information and documentation
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
