Hope Izakaya is a modern Japanese-inspired restaurant in Edinburgh, known for warm hospitality, quality drinks, and a lively dining atmosphere. We are looking for a friendly, reliable FOH team member who is confident working behind the bar and enjoys delivering great service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
- Support FOH operations including seating, taking orders, and running food/drinks
- Prepare alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages to house standards
- Maintain bar cleanliness, stock levels, and assist with daily setup/close‑down
- Assist with guest enquiries and ensure a positive dining experience
- Work closely with the team to keep service smooth and efficient
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas
- Follow basic health, safety, and licensing guidelines
Requirements
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not essential — a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key
- Ability to multitask and support team members during busy periods
- Familiarity with serving techniques, food safety, or basic food preparation is an advantage
- Strong time‑management skills and confidence working in a fast‑paced environment
- Bar, kitchen, or culinary experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner with guests
