Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes
- Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are strictly followed
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimise waste and control costs
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times
- Support in developing new dishes and innovative culinary concepts to enhance the menu offerings
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Previous experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food production processes and restaurant operations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation
