Bodiam Meat Company is a butchery and food service supplier, and our drivers are the part of the business our customers actually see. We're looking for a reliable van driver to join us on a fixed early shift.
You'll load your van each morning and deliver fresh and chilled meat and food service products to butchers, restaurants, pubs, cafés and trade customers on a planned route. Early start, finished by early afternoon, and your Sundays are your own.
What you'll be doing
- Loading and checking your van against delivery notes before you leave the depot
- Delivering to trade customers on a set route, on time and in good order
- Maintaining the cold chain — recording temperatures and never leaving product unattended
- Getting deliveries signed for, keeping paperwork accurate and reporting any shortages
- Daily vehicle checks, keeping the van clean, and reporting defects straight away
- Being a good face for the company and handling the occasional customer query on the doorstep
What we're looking for
- Full UK driving licence (Category B), held at least two years, with no more than six penalty points
- Confident driving a 3.5-tonne van in traffic and in tight delivery yards
- Genuinely reliable and punctual — a 6am start needs to suit you
- Physically able to handle repeated lifting and moving of chilled stock
- Careful with paperwork and happy to follow food safety procedures
- Chilled or food delivery experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person
