Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and proactive Team Leader to join our service supporting adults with a wide range of learning disabilities, autism, and complex support needs.
The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the team while ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is delivered. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day service delivery, including rota planning, staff supervisions, coaching and mentoring, care planning, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, risk assessments, and supporting individuals to achieve their goals.
You will work closely with the registered manager, health professionals, to ensure effective communication, partnership working, and positive outcomes for the people we support. You will contribute to assessments, reviews, and the ongoing development of support strategies to meet changing needs and ensure services remain responsive and person-centred.
This role is ideal for someone who is organised, solution-focused, and able to remain calm and positive in a dynamic environment. You will need to be confident leading and developing a team, managing competing priorities, and promoting a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex support needs, following care plans, risk assessments, and PBS strategies.
- Lead by example while working alongside the team on shift, supporting individuals with daily routines, communication, emotional regulation, activities, and community engagement.
- Promote consistent approaches that support wellbeing, reduce anxiety, and meet individual needs.
- Support the development and review of care plans, PBS plans, risk assessments, and other service documentation.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to colleagues, including completing staff supervisions and supporting team development.
- Assist with rota planning, shift coordination, assessments, reviews, and quality improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and local authorities to ensure effective communication and positive outcomes.
- Support safe community access, including the use of company vehicles for activities and appointments where required.
Requirements:
- Energetic, patient, and emotionally attuned
- Comfortable with high activity levels and able to think on your feet
- Experience supporting adult with ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergence is essential
- Strong physical stamina and active engagement in person centred care
- Full UK driving licence and ability to safely use company vehicles for pick-up/drop-off and community activities
- Relevant qualifications or previous caring/support work experience are essential
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure consistency and continuity of care
- On the DBS Update list is desirable.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and compassionate approach to care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends.
