Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Excavator Driver / Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating excavators efficiently and safely to support various excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks. Your mechanical knowledge and experience with heavy machinery will ensure smooth project progress while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate excavators with precision to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of excavator equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow detailed instructions from site supervisors to execute excavation plans effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machinery to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following site safety procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery on construction sites.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of excavator components, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating heavy equipment on public roads if required by local regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, site plans, and safety instructions clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Physical stamina to operate machinery for extended periods and perform manual tasks when necessary.
- Prior experience working in construction or civil engineering environments is preferred but not mandatory.
