Mini Swimming is an Essex-based swim school offering swimming classes and lessons for babies from 6 weeks old up to 10 years old across Essex and Suffolk. Due to some of our team returning to studying in September, we are looking for someone to join our fun and lively team to cover those gaps.
The core of this role is about being a swimming teacher and/or assistant with some extra time and hours to support the front of house and cleaning teams. It is expected that at least 50% of the hours will be in the pool so a love of swimming and working with little ones is essential. We provide all the training to be a qualified teacher but candidates must be exceptional swimmers, ideally have swum club level competitive swimming and therefore are excellent at all strokes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In pool Assistant Responsibilities:
- Supporting the lead teacher, Supervising swimmers, Ensuring pool safety & Ongoing development.
- Candidates must have a passion for working with children and a love of swimming and ideally a swimming background.
- Candidates will be assigned a mentor to guide and develop them but they must bring to the party the effort, energy and enthusiasm to practice and learn to boost their pool efforts.
- Training to teach under the STA or SE Level 2 Award to be able to solo teach classes of children.
- Front of House Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet customers in the Stanway office.
- Ensure the front-of-house area is welcoming, tidy, and organised for families attending the swim school.
- Ensure the changing rooms, pool area and toilets are rigourously cleaned. Cleaning will account for 30-40% of your role so you must be happy to clean and able to do it well.
- Provide excellent customer service to all visitors and families.

- Comfortable with basic administrative duties and handling payments.

- Hours: To be set each week (rota set bi weekly) , suitable for a 18-20-year-old, with flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed.
- Working hours are likely to be a mix of daytimes, afternoons and weekends. This role will not suit a college student as we need someone with wider availability to cover the gaps created by the rest of the teams college schedules.
