Tottington Manor is a Hotel & Events Venue just north of Brighton in the South Downs National Park, we are near to Poynings, Small Dole, Upper Beeding and Steyning and just 10 minutes from the Shoreham flyover at the A27, 10 minutes from the A23 junction at Pyecombe and 20 minutes from Horsham.
We are situated in a truly beautiful location and our guests join us because of our great team, hospitality, food and our location.
We pride ourselves on Great Hospitality and our guests reflect that in the tips they leave after having a great meal with us.
As a result our team regularly receive between £2 and £3 per hour in additional tips and service charge on top of the advertised wage.
Position Summary:
Tottington Manor is looking for Full time 5 days on 5 days off Night Porter. Working 11 hr shifts from 10pm to 9am the shift pattern will see you typically working every other weekend but with days off between each block of 5 nights giving lots of time to enjoy life as well as work.
The Night Porter starts at 10pm and leads the bar operation for our Weddings and Events and looks after our guests during the week as they have their final drink before heading to bed. They are responsible for ensuring our end of night procedures are complete to ensure a safe, clean and efficient close down.
Once all guests are safely in bed the Night Porter will move onto cleaning and setup tasks to ensure the venue is ready to start the next day.
From time to time there will be minor maintenance tasks and preparation tasks to complete through the night, but in the main you are there to look after the resident guests, ensuring their safety and security.
In the mornings you will assist with breakfast and check out, working with the day team until the shift finishes at 9am.
This is a full time position averaging 38.5 hours per weekwith additional hours available for holiday cover for other night porters within our team,.
Location requirements:
We are in a truly beautiful location, but there is no suitable public transport so you either need your own car or motorbike or very helpful parents.
Requirements:
- Working Full time for 38.5hrs per week 10pm - 9am 5 nights on, 5 nights off.
- Must be able to work nights and be self motivated to work alone and complete tasks
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to support events
- Must be able to work as part of a team as required
- Must have knowledge and experience of working nights and ideally have worked in a hospitality environment.
Responsibilities:
- Taking food and drink orders
- Cleaning and preparation tasks overnight
- Preparing drinks to a high standard
- Checking guests in and out of the hotel
- Cleaning, tidying and restocking the venue ready for a fresh start each day
Pay:
- The annual salary is between £26,000 and £28,000 depending on experience.
- In addition we operate a tronc scheme that shares service charge between the whole team based on the hours that they work, this typically works out at £2 - £3 per hour in addition to the basic rate of pay
