Van Driver & Yard Operative
Location: Redditch
Salary: £27,000–£29,000 per year
Hours: Thursday to Monday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Contract: Full Time
CJ Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Van Driver & Yard Operative to join our client's growing and successful operation.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining professional driving responsibilities with general yard, warehouse and logistics duties. We're looking for an energetic, reliable and proactive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is happy to support wherever needed.
The Role
As a Van Driver & Yard Operative, your duties will include:
- Collecting stock from suppliers across the UK, ensuring goods are transported safely and on time.
- Carrying out deliveries and collections in a professional and efficient manner.
- Completing general yard duties and ensuring the yard is kept clean, organised and safe.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Checking that loads are secure before transportation.
- Completing regular stock counts and reporting any discrepancies.
- Supporting general warehouse and logistics duties as required.
- Carrying out equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Ensuring company vehicles, equipment and stock are handled responsibly.
- Following all company health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Working flexibly to support the wider operations team when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Van Driver, Delivery Driver or within a similar commercial driving role.
- A valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
- A good understanding of driving regulations and safe driving practices.
- Experience working within a warehouse, yard or logistics environment.
- The ability to carry out manual handling and heavy lifting duties.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, reliable and positive approach to work.
- The ability to work outdoors and remain productive in a busy environment.
The following licences are advantageous, but not essential:
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Reach Forklift Licence
- Flexi Forklift Licence
