Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engine Engineer specialising in the rebuild of car and commercial engines. The successful candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic background, with expertise in engine assembly, maintenance, and repair. This role offers the opportunity to work on easy engine projects from cam belts, wet belts and timing chain failures on popular marques ie Ford Ecoboost , Transit and Ranger, Volkswagen Transporter and Nissan Qashqai to full builds on Vauxhalls , Jaguar, Mitsubishi and Peugeot ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the rebuild process. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency of hand and power tools, and work to deadlines quick turnaround as many of our clients are business owners
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild engines for both cars and commercial vehicles with precision and attention to detail
- Be able to decipher code readers and mechanical diagrams to guide assembly and repair processes
- Utilise hand tools, power tools and operate ramps safely
- Conduct routine maintenance on engines and related components to ensure optimal functioning
- Assist in the realignment and calibration / timing of engine components during assembly
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace adhering to safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in engine rebuilding for cars and commercial vehicles
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on internal combustion engines
- Proficiency in reading and understanding a job sheet
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance machinery
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling engine parts or components
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £17.00-£22.00 per hour
