About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager (Interim) to support financial planning, performance management, reporting, and governance activities within the council. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, providing clear and concise financial information to senior officers and elected Members.
This role involves:
- Supporting financial planning and performance management activities within the council
- Preparing clear and concise financial and performance reports for senior officers and elected Members
- Supporting financial governance and reporting processes
- Analysing financial and performance information to identify key issues and trends
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation
- Providing clear financial information and insight to support effective decision-making
This is a hybrid role, with approximately two days per week based at County Hall, Chichester.
Requirements:
Must-Have Requirements
- Experience in financial planning and performance reporting
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience producing reports for senior officers and elected Members
- Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Previous experience in an interim financial management role
- Experience supporting local government financial governance processes
- Strong understanding of public sector financial management and reporting
