Nursery Practitioner (Full Time)
Camperdown Nursery – Prestonpans
Camperdown Nursery is a warm, welcoming private nursery in Prestonpans, providing high-quality care and education for up to 24 children aged 2–5 years. Our purpose-built nursery offers a homely atmosphere, supported by two fantastic outdoor learning spaces where children are encouraged to explore, play and develop through meaningful experiences.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our wonderful team on a full-time basis.
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery, creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Working alongside our experienced team, you will help plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences while promoting children's wellbeing, development and independence.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is kind, caring and passionate about working with young children.
- Has a genuine desire to nurture and support children throughout their early years.
- Holds a relevant childcare qualification or is currently working towards one.
- Has a sound understanding of early years practice and child development.
- Has experience working within an early years or childcare setting.
- Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with children and families.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), working (4 days) Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm. We will also consider part-time hours for the right candidate.
The role includes:
- One scheduled day off each week on a rotating basis.
- Two paid 20-minute breaks and one 35-minute lunch break during each 10-hour shift.

Pre-Employment Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Join the PVG Scheme or complete an update check.
- Register with the SSSC or GTC (where applicable).
- Provide two satisfactory references, one of which must be from your current or most recent employer (referees will not be contacted without your knowledge).
