Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced General Builder / Groundworks Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out all aspects of groundwork and general building, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Excavate and prepare foundations and footings.
- Lay concrete foundations, slabs, and oversites.
- Install drainage systems, soakaways, and ducting.
- Set out works from drawings and site plans.
- Build foundations, retaining walls, and blockwork below DPC.
- Operate small plant and machinery (where qualified).
- Prepare sites and maintain a safe, tidy working environment.
- Assist with brickwork, paving, fencing, and general construction tasks.
- Work effectively within a team and independently when required.
- Ensure all work complies with current Health & Safety regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in groundworks and general building.
- Good understanding of foundation construction and drainage.
- Ability to read and interpret site drawings.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Desirable
- Experience operating excavators or dumpers.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
Job Description 2: Carpenter
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to undertake a variety of first and second fix carpentry work, fitting windows and doors , insulations, plasterboards across residential projects. The ideal candidate will take pride in producing high-quality workmanship and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first fix carpentry including roofs, joists, stud walls, and floor structures.
- Complete second fix carpentry including doors, skirting, architraves, kitchens, staircases, and fitted furniture.
- Install timber framing and structural timber elements.
- Read and work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit timber products accurately.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
- Work collaboratively with site managers and other trades.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter.
- Strong knowledge of first and second fix carpentry.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry
- First Aid at Work qualification.
Both roles should demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, excellent timekeeping, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship while maintaining a safe working environment.
Pay: £100.00-£200.00 per hour
