CCTV and Alarm Systems Engineer
Overview
Join a growing, professional security systems team supporting a portfolio of 70+ fixed sites. You’ll be responsible for installing, commissioning and maintaining industry-leading electronic security systems that protect people, property and critical assets.
This is a varied, hands-on role working across multiple customer sites, with the opportunity to work with modern technologies and some of the industry’s leading manufacturers.
The Role
As a Security Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of a range of electronic security systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing and commissioning security systems at customer sites
- Servicing, maintaining and fault-finding existing installations
- Diagnosing and resolving system and connectivity issues
- Configuring security devices and associated network equipment
- Working with customers and site teams to ensure systems are fully operational
- Completing installation and service documentation
- Supporting the wider engineering team across the company’s portfolio of sites
- Working safely and professionally at all times
Systems & Technologies
You will work across a range of electronic security technologies, including:
- Intruder Alarm Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Predominantly IP-based CCTV
- IP networking and infrastructure
- Device configuration and network troubleshooting
Experience with the following manufacturers would be particularly beneficial:
- Hikvision
- Orisec
- Paxton
- Honeywell
A good understanding of IP networking principles is essential, including device addressing, connectivity, configuration and fault finding.
Experience & Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced security engineer who is confident working independently and has practical, hands-on experience installing and maintaining electronic security systems.
Essential:
- Previous experience in electronic security systems
- Experience installing, commissioning and maintaining security equipment
- Good understanding of IP CCTV and networking
- Ability to diagnose faults and resolve technical issues
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
The following qualifications or experience would be advantageous:
- IPAF Licence
- CSCS or ECS Card
- Experience with solar-powered systems
- Experience installing or maintaining deployable/portable CCTV systems
- Additional networking experience
- Experience working on larger or multi-site security deployments
