Overview
We are a gardening business seeking a dedicated gardener to join our expanding team and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our outdoor spaces. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about gardening, applying their knowledge and skills to create and maintain both commercial and private outdoor spaces. Previous experience in gardening is a requirement, and a keen interest and willingness to learn are also valued. This paid position is ideal for those looking to develop their expertise, who enjoy outdoor work, and in time would like to build on their leadership skills through supervising and training new assistants as we continue to expand. This role starts as two days a week, with the view of increasing hours over time. Hourly pay will depend on experience/skills
Duties
- Assist with planting, transplanting, and fertilising plants
- General maintenance, weeding, shaping, pruning etc
- Maintain garden beds, and pathways to ensure a neat and attractive appearance
- Monitor plant health and identify signs of pests or disease for appropriate action
Skills
- Experience or background in gardening
- Proficiency in using hand tools
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of garden presentation
- Good people skills when liaising with clients
