We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager / Chef to join our hospitality team. This role combines leadership, culinary expertise, and operational management to ensure the smooth running of our bakery and cafe services. The successful candidate will oversee food preparation, supervise staff, and uphold high standards of food safety and customer service. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including chefs and serving personnel
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to specifications and presentation standards
- Lead food preparation activities, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control wastage effectively
- Support in training new staff members and ongoing professional development of team members
- Assist in menu planning and development in collaboration with the head chef
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest needs and resolving any issues promptly
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health regulations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant setting
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is required
- Experience with food safety certifications or relevant training is advantageous
