Job Overview:
Technical Signs is seeking a reliable and motivated Assembly Worker to join our busy production team. As an Assembly Worker, you will play an important role in the manufacture and assembly of a wide variety of signage products, working closely with other members of the production team to ensure jobs are completed accurately, safely, and to a high standard.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is practical, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products. Previous experience within signage, manufacturing, assembly, or a similar environment would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble signage, components, and associated products in accordance with job specifications and production requirements.
- Work from drawings, job sheets, and instructions to ensure products are assembled correctly and accurately.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Fit and assemble components including panels, frames, fixings, and other signage elements.
- Carry out basic measurements and checks to ensure accuracy and quality throughout the assembly process.
- Inspect finished work and identify any defects or issues before products move to the next stage of production.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure jobs progress efficiently through production.
- Assist with the preparation, packing, and handling of completed signage where required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow company Health and Safety procedures at all times.
- Manage multiple jobs and priorities to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Contribute to improvements within the production process and support the wider team when required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience within an assembly, manufacturing, production, engineering, or workshop environment is preferred.
- Good practical and hands-on skills.
- Confident using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow drawings, measurements, and job instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workload effectively.
- Ability to work in a busy production environment and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within the sign-making industry or a related field.
- Experience assembling signage, displays, shopfitting, exhibition products, or similar fabricated products.
- Experience working with materials such as aluminium, steel, acrylic, plastics, and composite panels.
- Basic understanding of electrical components or LED signage would be advantageous.
- Experience working from technical drawings.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, [e.g., 8:00am – 4:30pm], with potential for overtime based on project demands.
