Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Forest School Lead to develop and deliver our outdoor learning provision for children in the Early Years.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about nature-based learning and understands how outdoor experiences support children’s confidence, resilience, and wellbeing. You will lead engaging, child-led sessions that inspire a lifelong connection with the natural world.

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Forest School sessions for children aged 2–5
- Lead outdoor learning experiences in all seasons and weather conditions
- Foster children’s independence, risk-taking, and problem-solving skills
- Ensure a safe environment through thorough risk assessments and safeguarding practices
- Work closely with nursery staff and families to support children’s development
- Maintain and develop outdoor learning spaces and resources
- Promote inclusive, accessible outdoor learning for all children
Skills
- Holds a recognised Forest School Level 3 qualification or working towards one
- Has strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Has experience working with young children in an early years setting
- Is confident, creative, and passionate about outdoor education
- Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
