Sales and Operations Lead
Job Outline
About Myrtle Learning
Myrtle Learning is a UK-based education company providing personalised tuition, educational support and school partnerships. We help learners aged 7 to 18 build confidence, achieve their potential and own their learning, through 11 Plus preparation, KS3, GCSE, A Level, SEND support, Reading Club, summer programmes and intervention services. We also partner with schools, Multi-Academy Trusts and Local Authorities, and recruit high-quality educators. Our work is guided by professionalism, integrity, compassion, educational excellence, continuous improvement and partnership.
The Role
We are looking for a commercially minded Sales and Operations Lead to help grow Myrtle Learning in a sustainable, well-run way. This is a hands-on, dual role: driving new business and enrolment growth on one side, and making sure the day-to-day operation runs smoothly and scales well on the other. You will work closely with the Director on strategy, own the sales pipeline and key partnerships, and take responsibility for the systems, processes and reporting that keep the business efficient as it grows.
This is a pivotal hire for the business. We are looking for someone who can genuinely grow Myrtle Learning, not simply maintain it, and who brings the commercial discipline and operational rigour to do so responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Own and grow the enrolment pipeline across tuition, school partnerships and summer/holiday programmes, from initial enquiry through consultation to enrolment.
- Develop and execute outreach to parents, schools, Multi-Academy Trusts and Local Authorities, identifying new partnership and contract opportunities.
- Manage and improve use of the CRM system, marketing automation and lead tracking, so no enquiry is lost and follow-up is timely and consistent.
- Work with marketing to align campaigns (Meta Ads, Google Ads, email marketing) with sales capacity and seasonal demand, and feed customer insight back into messaging.
- Track conversion at each stage of the customer journey and identify where the funnel can be improved.
Operations and Delivery
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring tutors, resources and scheduling are organised and learners receive a consistent, high-quality experience.
- Design and document clear, repeatable processes for enrolment, onboarding, tutor allocation and programme delivery, so the business can scale without losing quality.
- Monitor retention and parent satisfaction, and put in place practical steps to improve both.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of high-quality educators, working with the Director on standards and quality assurance.
- Manage relationships with school and partnership contacts through delivery, ensuring commitments are met and issues are resolved promptly.
Reporting and Growth
- Set, track and report on clear KPIs for sales, retention, referrals and operational efficiency, and use these to inform decisions.
- Provide the Director with regular, accurate reporting on pipeline, revenue and delivery performance.
- Contribute to planning for scalable, predictable revenue growth, including pricing, capacity planning and new service lines.
Person Specification
Essential
- Educated to degree level, or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience and achievement.
- At least 5 years' experience in a sales, business development or operations role, with a track record of measurable growth or improvement in that role.
- Confident using CRM and marketing automation tools, and comfortable working with data and reporting to guide decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism and warmth to represent Myrtle Learning to parents, schools and Local Authority partners.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and see processes through from idea to consistent execution.
- A collaborative, values-led approach, comfortable operating with autonomy while keeping the Director informed.
Desirable
- Experience in education, tutoring, childcare, or another service sector with a similar consultative sales cycle and safeguarding awareness.
- Experience working with schools, Multi-Academy Trusts or Local Authorities.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads, Google Ads or email marketing platforms.
What Success Looks Like
- A consistently healthy, well-tracked enrolment pipeline with improving conversion rates.
- Clear, documented operational processes that reduce reliance on any one individual.
- Strong retention and referral rates among existing families and partners.
- New or strengthened partnerships with schools, Trusts or Local Authorities.
- Reliable, accurate reporting that the Director can use to make decisions with confidence.
