Job Summary
We are working with a growing UK software business that is expanding its Product Engineering team in Liverpool and is looking to hire both Mid-Level and Senior Product Engineers. The company develops an established SaaS product used by customers internationally and is currently investing significantly in its engineering capability. A new Director of Product Engineering has recently joined the business to strengthen engineering maturity, technical standards and delivery practices, with further hires now being made across the engineering team.
This is a hands-on software engineering opportunity within a relatively small product business where engineers can have genuine influence over the product and how the engineering function develops.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and maintain high-quality production software.
- Work across front-end and back-end development within a modern product engineering environment.
- Take ownership of features through design, development, testing and production.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and engineering decisions.
- Build and maintain APIs and third-party integrations.
- Improve the quality, performance and maintainability of the existing codebase.
- Contribute to CI/CD, development tooling and engineering workflow improvements.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and quality.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared engineering standards.
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA and other engineers.
- Investigate and resolve production issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical complexity and improve development velocity.
Requirements
- Commercial full-stack software engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles.
- Experience developing and maintaining production applications.
- Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations.
- Exposure to cloud-based and distributed application architectures.
- Experience with source control, automated testing and code review.
- Understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
- Ability to work effectively within an existing codebase.
- A collaborative approach to engineering and knowledge sharing.
- An interest in AI-assisted software development and emerging engineering technologies.

Pay: £45,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
