We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient food production
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and optimal customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellence
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of culinary professionals
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations in a hospitality setting
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in culinary skills and service delivery
- Experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential; a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations is required
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
