Bar manager is the wrong title, but it’s the closest fit I could find on Indeed. This is the job:
You’ll be running the front of house. Us getting it right for the customer all the time and everyday, will be your primary concern.
You’ll be our main, central, public-facing rock and anchor. In many ways, you’ll be in the traditional role of landlord - in conjunction with the owners and the other time served members. Longest, 20 plus years, several 10 plus years. Your character and personality will have a profound affect on all of us; we must try to choose you wisely.
You will lead the front of house team, and it’s a big one. They work for you, and their performance will be to your credit, or otherwise.
This is a big job, but it’s not GM. There’s a lot on your shoulders, but there’s a lot that isn’t. You’re part of a team.
About you:
We do an awful lot of food, but we’re a pub first, and always will be. You need to be someone who understands that and wants to be part of a pub, not a restaurant.
You’ll be strong enough to still love it when we’re four-deep at the bar and getting the beer out as fast as humanly possible. You’ll enjoy commanding the ship in the storm.
You’ll be as adept at handling a regular who’s had a few too many, as a Chinese family who’ve just walked into an English pub for the first time and haven’t a clue what to do.
You’ll be experienced and mature enough to know that the details and the routine and the numbers matter too. They do.
There’s no one here (including the owners) too high to clean the toilets, if the usual person gets run over by a bus and there’s no one else to do it. Anyone who’s inclined to say, ‘that’s not my job’, is in the wrong place.
What you can expect from us:

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
