LSI Brighton Job Description : Activity Leader
Reporting to: School Director
Job role:
To assist in enhancing the experiences of students at LSI Brighton by delivering and leading an enjoyable activity programme, ensuring student happiness, welfare and safety as well as ensuring LSI's high standards of customer service are upheld.
Remuneration:
£13.50 per hour + 12.07% holiday pay (12.07%) paid at the end of each month.
This is subject to income tax and national insurance when applicable.
Hours Of Work:
● Hours and days of work are variable, depending on the number of students at the school. The activities week is based on up to 7 days and between 2.5 and 25 hours per week.
● Most afternoon social activities are scheduled between 13.15 and 17.30 Monday to Friday.
● Most evening activities are scheduled between 19.00 and 22.00.
● Weekend duties are usually on Saturdays and involve full day excursions, usually 08:00 – 18:00.
Duties:
Duties will consist mainly of, but are not limited to, the following:
● Supervising and actively participating in social activities as designated by the activities leader.
● Animating and encouraging students to take part in the social programme.
● Supervising and guiding students on activities and excursions.
● Ensuring that health and safety procedures are observed at all times
● Shared responsibility for the general welfare of young students including dealing with arrivals and departures, taking care of students' valuables, helping bored, lonely or (in conjunction with first aid-qualified staff) sick students.
● Raising and referring any specific Safeguarding concerns regarding students mental, physical or sexual health about students to the relevant staff, including the Designated Safeguarding Officers/Lead person in the school.
● Monitoring and reporting any safeguarding concerns related to students emotional , physical and sexual wellbeing.
● Attending relevant staff meetings.
● Communicating routinely and in respect of problems to other staff in the schools.
● Other duties as allocated by the School Director.
Training Requirements:
● All staff will undertake on-line and face to face training in the following areas: Safeguarding, anti-radicalisation (PREVENT initiative), and Fire Safety. All staff will also be asked to complete Emergency First Aid at Work.

Essential
● Over 18 years of age
● Good interpersonal skills
● Ability to work with a team and use initiative
● Genuine interest in working in a busy multinational environment
● Enhanced DBS check with no adverse information that would compromise the post holders ability to work with children.
Knowledge/Skills
Essential
● Understanding of the environment and services provided in an international English language school
Desirable
● Experience of working with young people
● Experience in customer service roles

● Ability to organise, communicate and manage groups of people within a school environment and while out on tours and trips
