We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our busy community pharmacy and private clinic team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking to people, has a confident telephone manner, and is comfortable dealing with customers face to face. The role will involve supporting the pharmacy team with a range of pharmacy services, including earwax removal, blood tests, vaccinations, health checks and other NHS or private services offered by the pharmacy.
No previous pharmacy experience is required, as full training will be provided. The successful candidate must be willing to learn, follow procedures carefully, and communicate with patients in a professional, caring and confidential manner.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Supporting the pharmacy team with pharmacy services, appointments and patient enquiries
- Speaking confidently with customers and patients in person and over the phone
- Booking appointments and managing the service diary
- Welcoming patients and helping them complete required forms or questionnaires
- Preparing consultation rooms and service areas before and after appointments
- Accurately recording patient and service information on the pharmacy system
- Promoting suitable pharmacy services in a professional and appropriate way
- Referring clinical or medical questions to the pharmacist or trained clinician
- Assisting with prescriptions, stock management, payments and general pharmacy duties
- Maintaining confidentiality and following pharmacy procedures at all times

Previous experience in retail, customer service, reception work, call handling or healthcare would be helpful, but it is not essential.
