Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Therapist/hygienist to join our dynamic dental practice offering care to a mix of NHS and private patients. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Denplan training days and BLS training provided at the practice annually.
Duties
- Assist dentists by providing various dental procedures within the scope of practice in both therapy and hygiene.
- Provide excellent patient care by reassuring patients, explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness in the treatment areas according to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other team members regarding treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and oral hygiene instructions.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth operations within the practice.
Requirements
- Qualified Dental Therapist/hygienist with relevant certification or diploma. GDC registered.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Strong IT skills for managing patient records and scheduling systems. A knowledge of Exact dental software preferred but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their visit.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
