The SCM Practitioner role offers the opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced mental health practitioner to further develop their skills in offering an evidenced-based intervention for service users with Complex Emotional Needs (CEN). Prior SCM training is not a requirement for this role and will be provided. The post holder will work alongside other SCM practitioners and Practitioner Psychologists to implement SCM within the Core teams. The post holder will be based at Regis Road in Kentish Town, however, the role is borough-wide across Camden.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Mental Health Practitioner (e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Associate Psychologist). In addition, the ideal candidate will have worked with services users with CEN offering assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention.
You will have access to SCM training, regular group and individual supervision . You will work as a member of the team, providing 1-1 and group interventions to service users with complex emotional and relational needs. You will work with a caseload of people within the SCM programme.
The post holder will work alongside other mental health practitioners to provide Structured Clinical Management (SCM) within core teams. You will provide SCM assessment, formulation, group and individual intervention and hold a caseload. You will receive regularly supervision in a group setting and individual supervision.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The post holder will work alongside other mental health practitioners to provide Structured Clinical Management (SCM) within core teams. The post holder will be expected to:
Use a high level of interpersonal skills, reasoning and negotiation skills to establish a therapeutic relationship with people with complex emotional difficulties managing barriers to communication.
Collaborate with the service user to enable the individual to be a partner in care.
Undertake SCM assessment to include, mental health and risk assessments, psychological formulation and care planning.
Provide SCM in both 1-1 sessions and group sessions in conjunction with other practitioners.
Act as a named worker for the service users allocated to your care practising without direct supervision and with a degree of autonomy.
Make onward referrals and signpost to other services including VCSE and neighbourhood services to enable wrap around, holistic support for service users undergoing treatment to meet a broad range of need.
Participate in MDT discussions.
Liaise with and develop relationships with other agencies involved in the service users care to ensure consistent multi agency approach and maintain effective communication.
Provide advice and guidance to other members of the team in relation to SCM.
Attend and participate in weekly SCM supervision and individual clinical supervision.
