- Support clients with meal preparation, nutrition, and hydration to meet their dietary needs
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Implement behavior management strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s care needs
- Document care activities thoroughly and update care plans regularly
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a trusting relationship
- Support clients with transportation needs, including driving to appointments or errands when required
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and case management
- Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures, heavy lifting techniques, and infection control measures
Experience
- Prior experience in nursing homes, care homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures is essential
- Experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s care demonstrates your ability to handle complex behavioral needs
- Familiarity with hospice care practices is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks is required
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities are vital for success in this role
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are necessary for transportation responsibilities
